How To Achieve Happiness?

Most people view earning a living as their primary goal and forget what happiness is about. What is happiness? It has different meanings to different people. Before deciding how to attain happiness through the most important areas of our lives, we should study the term 'happiness' thoroughly.

The word- 'happiness' has broad definitions. We generally categorize it into two states: 'present moment' happiness and 'contentment' happiness'. 'Present moment' happiness regarded as 'pleasure' and it did not last for long. On the contrary, 'contentment' happiness is a life-long experience.

Present moment happiness can be obtained when you are in a party, a concert, watching a sunset or having a nice meal.

However, you can only achieve 'contentment' happiness when you are satisfied with the whole of your life, where everything is going well. In other words, this state of happiness occurs when you have good health, a good job, good relationships with others and you don't need to worry about your living. Although you can't feel the enthusiasm of 'present moment' happiness, this state of happiness lasts longer.

It is impossible for you to laugh with strong passion all the time, but getting the contentment happiness is comparatively easy.

People often attain 'contentment' happiness unconsciously. Sometimes we may sense it by recalling good times in the past and realizing how happy we were at that time.

What should you do to achieve happiness again if you are unhappy? First, it is crucial for you to know your own desire clearly. The second thing is to fight for it under your control. Bear in mind that you should not long for others' help, as you are the only one who could make yourself happy.

To be happy or not to be happy, it merely depends on ourselves. You can choose to look at things at an optimistic or pessimistic way. It would be better if you can always look on the bright side of life.
