Feng Shui House - Principles of Feng Shui Energies

By Clark Meyer

If you are studying good Feng Shui to apply it to your home, you'll notice the word "chi" on a regular basis. Universal energy is represented by the word Chi. This basically means that the Chinese of long ago thought that everything - trees, land, and even the buildings - has energy of its own.

You will also discover that Feng Shui Chi has two sides, such as yin and yang, meaning that both bad and good Chi exist. You'll also find that Chi is found in different shapes based on nature's elements - metal, earth, wood, water, and fire. To take it a bit further, Chi can be broken down even beyond the five elements to the Feg Shui colors that correspond with those elements.

Feng Shui House has various goals but the most important one involves Chi, and learning how to guide it in the area where you live and work. You'll want your work and living space to have good Chi since it feeds the spirit and keeps the flow of energy positive. This positive Chi that makes your environment alive with effervescence is referred to as Sheng Chi. There is negative where there is positive as well. Negative energy is referred to as Si Chi and Sha Chi which literally translates to low and depressing and sharp and attacking.

Sheng Chi in detail

Sheng is a word that means energy movement that is rising. So Sheng Chi is energy that is both uplifting and vibrant. This positive life force is important and advantageous to your well being and overall health.

Sheng Chi comes in various forms, most derived from nature or clean and simple indoor environment. Remember, Chi is the universal energy that is found in all things around you. Well, there is nothing more powerful energy-wise than parts of nature that thrive such as the beach.

Si Chi and Sha Chi = Bad Chi

Where there is good, there is always bad. Si Chi is a depressing, festering type of energy. . If you were in this type of environment for very long, you'd begin to get sick.

Sha Chi is more about the architecture or the decor on the inside or outside of your home that has a violent nature. Any structures on the outside that have points or corners pointing into the space for living or work are considered to be Sha Chi.

The whole purpose of understanding the good and bad Chi is so that you can use the practices of Feng Shui decorating to combat energy that is destructive and negative and turn it into energy that is cleansing and positive.

Many Feng Shui consultants, who have studied Feng Sui tradition for years, will show you how to Feng Shi your home to help you balance the Sheng Chi and the Sha Chi and achieve an hospicious Feng Shui House.
