If your learning approach is visual, endeavor to picture the details in your head or write it down. If you learn through auditory methods, you need to repeat things out loud, or consider recording it so that you can replay it sometime in the future.

Methods to improve your short term memory can also be helpful to you in other ways. Keeping your mind in top condition takes more that memory tricks, you need lots of rest and exercise too. Another way to better your short term memory and improve your ability to retain information is by way of effective management of stress. In addition, eat a balanced diet and avoid cigarettes and other tobacco products. Amongst other things, smoking brings on a hypoxic state in the brain, having an effect on its ability to function as well.
