The Correct Casket Can Be Your Respect For The Departed

By Cathy Reyes

Death is generally followed by overbearing sorrow and distress, leaving family members and friends inconsolable and sentimentally overwhelmed by the death of a loved one. However, you still have to prepare for the funeral service and the most critical thing that you would need is a casket.

It is extremely difficult to be able to concentrate on the quality, price and other factors to be considered in a casket that you intend to purchase during this emotionally tiring and traumatic time. When the departed's religious or social beliefs specify certain requirements for the casket or the departed himself has made his preferences known in this respect, then the choice of a casket becomes much simpler.

Many casket choices come in a range of sizes, styles, shapes, and accordingly differing prices. You will have to identify if you want a burial casket or a funeral casket. While the funeral casket is meant for the body to be seen during the memorial service, the burial casket is normally only appropriate for burial purposes.

Caskets come in different materials, such as wood, metal, fibre glass, and marble. Traditionally, wooden caskets were preferred and choice from different types of wood such as mahogany, maple, oak etc could be made. While wooden caskets are very elegant when polished and great in terms of quality, they are also more costly than other options. Alternately, metal caskets are lesser expensive and can be found in a range of finishes like bronze, steel, and copper, and in various designs and colours too.

Eco friendly material based caskets are also getting popular nowadays with so much stress on safeguarding the planet, especially among the environmentally aware people. The material used in them is biodegradable and causes no damage to the ecosystem. These caskets are a great option if the deceased person was concerned about environment conservation.
